09.24.07Bottom Third Clutter
Ranting (1)As pointed out by the pointy-heads at the NYTimes, the annoying use of placing ads and other clutter in the bottom third of the TV screen is bothersome. Not sure I disagree that broadcast and cable television is making the experience more distracting, less entertaining. Read the article: "As the Fall Season Arrives, TV Screens Get More Cluttered"

Ranting (0)If they're going to go through the trouble of rebranding, you'd think they'd come up with something a little more 1. exciting, 2. modern, 3. stylish, 4. reminiscent of the Tampa Bay area, and/or 5. bold than this! If they're trying to invigorate a tired brand, this seems to be a weak attempt. Check out the proposed (and preliminary) D-Rays new uniforms.

Ranting (0)Wal-Mart will end their fight to attract more upscale consumers and just "let Wal-Mart be Wal-Mart." What? I must have missed that effort. http://adage.com/article?article_id=120197 For those who know me, my hatred for Wal-Mart is no surprise. The Target vs. Wal-Mart battle has been an ongoing topic of discussion in my life, from ex-mother-in-laws to co-workers. Now I have honestly been to Wal-Mart only 6 times in my life and never once did I see this whole "trying to attract more upscale consumers" system in effect. I have seen cheap products, or as they put it "price-valued" products. ...
